Since November, he has been reigning in Paris like a little festive atmosphere. And magic. The capital has put on its clothes of light, and here and there have grown pretty Christmas markets. The end of the year is approaching and with it the seasonal festivities. Foie gras, champagne, chocolates… for your festive meals Paris the queen of gastronomy unwinds the red carpet… and the wooden chalets!
We like to stroll around for the atmosphere, the smells, the lights… Christmas markets are a tradition from which Parisians and visitors do not depart. From the small Christmas market at the Gare de l’Est, where all the flavours of Alsace line up, to the large Défense market, the largest in Île-de-France, there is something for everyone.
One of our favourites, for its village atmosphere and its proximity to the Victoria Palace, is the Saint-Germain-des-Prés market. A few minutes walk from the hotel, discover this pocket market on Place Saint-Germain-des-Prés, the smallest in Paris, but the warmest they say!
Go up boulevard Saint-Germain, nicely illuminated, and head towards Notre-Dame. Not far from the cathedral, Viviani Square hosts a Christmas market dedicated to crafts: ceramics, jewellery, artistic ironwork, leather goods, tableware…
Do you still have some purchases to make? Go to City Hall. In front of the square there is a Christmas market, where the traditional ice rink used to be located. This new market, hidden in an illuminated fir forest, conceals new gift ideas: its chalets are all exclusively full of products bearing the “Made in Paris” label.
In December, discover the magic of Christmas in Paris with the Victoria Palace.
